Carter, Norwegian Defense Minister Discuss Security Issues

WASHINGTON, June 25, 2015 – Defense Secretary Ash Carter today met with Norwegian Minister of Defense Ine Eriksen Søreide at the NATO Defense Ministerial in Brussels to discuss the U.S.-Norway defense partnership, according to a DoD news release.

The two leaders also discussed commitment to NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force and European security, the release said.

Carter thanked Søreide for Norway's partnership with the VJTF and their contributions to air policing efforts in the Baltics, the release said.
